Welcome to the PERT Program, an educational research project funded by the National Cancer Institute (a division of the NIH) and supported by Swedish Medical Center. The goal of the PERT Program is to enhance end-of-life care in long-term care facilities. To achieve this goal, the PERT Program has developed a comprehensive curriculum of educational materials and resources.
The PERT Curriculum has been used in hundreds of trainings and in-services by nursing educators throughout the world, and has garnered ovewhelmingly positive feedback. The curriclum has been incorporated into the educational training materials offered by the End-of-life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC).

The content of the PERT Program Website includes: The PERT Curriculum. Since 2001, the PERT Program has developed and refined an expansive collection of educational materials. Currently, we are in the process of updating this curriculum and transferring it to the End-of-life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC). Tip of the Month. Each month, PERT faculty, staff, and consultants address pertinent clinical issues facing nurses and nursing assistants working in long-term care. The Advisor is an online forum for questions about providing end-of-life care. The PERT Program locates appropriate clinical experts to thoroughly address each question we receive.
