Supervisor Evaluation Data Analyses
The PERT staff created supervisor evaluation questionnaires to determine whether the PERT classes impacted participants' on-the-job effectiveness. Immediate supervisors were asked to evaluate participants' performance both before and six months after attending the PERT classes.
These supervisor evaluations consisted of 6 (nursing assistant version) to 8 (licensed staff version) questions. Each item was developed to match PERT Program learning objectives. Supervisors rated each item on the following scale: needs improvement (1), meets expectations (2), exceeds expectations (3), or unable to assess (0). Scale scores were calculated using the mean of all items that were scored 1, 2, or 3. Total scores were not calculated if greater than 20% of items were marked “unable to assess.”
The tables below compare the combined mean scores of participants. The post-program supervisor evaluation scores showed significant increases over the pre-program scores, both for licensed staff and nursing assistants.
