The first PERT Train-the-Trainer workshop was held in Spokane, Washington, on May 4th and 5th, 2004. We were pleased to interact with 31 educators from nursing homes and consulting organizations throughout Eastern Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. The workshop atmosphere was energetic and highly collaborative and the teaching materials, including the syllabus and CD-ROM, were well received.

A few comments from the post-course evaluations:

(The) whole program is well put together and applicable to so many different areas of LTC.

Every section covered had many areas that were so helpful. Pain management was quite informative. Ethics and culture brought out so much that I hadn’t thought about or I realized a different perspective or way to look at it.

I very much learned from this class. I am happy for the book references and web sites. But most of all I am happy for the good reference material to access for staff training. Thank you so much. I am so happy I came.

This is an awesome experience and I look forward to going back to (my facility) and sharing this information and educating staff. As we educate I’m sure I will continue to learn as well. The CNA section was very informative and will be included in our orientation process – both the short version and also annually for all nursing staff.
